PX Précimet strengthens its production with a new Posalux femtosecond laser machine

PX Précimet has just added a third femtosecond laser machine to its production fleet, opening up new possibilities in terms of precision, speed, and complexity of cuts on materials such as precious alloys, 316L stainless steel, and titanium.

This machine, developed and produced by Posalux, is a model designed for cutting very small parts, including those with complex geometries. Thanks to high-performance laser technology and proven expertise in handling small-diameter wires, it enables PX Précimet to target an annual production of 20 million parts, particularly for marking rings and medical electrodes.

Fully automated, the machine can reach speeds of up to 60,000 parts per day, with an autonomy of more than 15 hours thanks to its high-capacity feeder. The robotic system reduces unusable material waste by half, increasing yield by 10% and contributing to a reduction in the consumption of precious metals.

Its commissioning involved close collaboration between the Posalux and PX Précimet teams. Mechanical adjustments, digital control, laser optimization, robotic integration: each step required specialized expertise to ensure optimal operation on particularly sensitive medical products.

At Posalux, we are proud to support PX Précimet in its industrial development and to contribute to pushing the boundaries of micromachining together.
